~tissotsgrl says I need a macro lens because I often shoot like I have one when I don't. I think she's probably right.

Give me something crazy or awesome to photograph and I'll do my best to capture it artfully.

For those of you that don't already know I'm making my way to Colorado in a little over a month. It's beautiful out there. With any luck I'll finally be able to brave my new digital camera and maybe update my gallery a little bit. Weeee!

So the beautiful *SparklyDest was kind enough to point me in the right direction as far as fractals are concerned. She gave me links to several tutorials and as is my way I simply poked at things in an attempt to figure them out for myself instead.

I'll look at the tutorials eventually but for these first few I just did a bit of mutation, and changing of weights and gradients until I found something I thought to be pleasing to the eyes.

My first piece would of course be vaguely pornographic but I hope you all enjoy it and the other piece I've uploaded in the spirit in which they were created.

I need to work out my creative muscles again. It's been too long. I haven't bothered to post anything here since mid October and it isn't for any good reason either. I simply haven't been shooting or otherwise creating save the things I upload to my stock gallery.

It's so much easier to craft something with a thread of beauty or interest and put it out there for someone else to manipulate and work into a masterpiece instead of having to create a whole finished work on my own. Long story short, I'm getting lazy.

I did get one photo shoot in with ~ImagesOfJenius out at Joshua Tree. It was a bit sans clothing and at the end, thankfully after we'd gotten back to the car and dressed again, two trucks full of park rangers showed up to let us know that it's illegal to shoot commercial photography in a national park without a permit. We're not intending any commercial use of the photos so no harm no foul but I suspect they just came to have a looksy anyway. Why would they need two cars full of park rangers for three girls?

So what am I really getting at here? I'm hoping to have a few outings in the near future. At least one this weekend. Possibly two. I have tentative plans to shoot with ~ImagesOfJenius again as well as ~delicate-decay and another photographer friend in L.A. besides that. I also need go get back into doing photomanips and possibly try my hand at fractals if I can figure out what everyone's using to make them. Maybe even post some songs which I've had a plethora of inspiration for lately.

I'd like to do some kind of creative collaboration with my friends too. Any takers?
